New Falk Harrison Video – Companies Transitioning Money and Effort To Social Media

My employer Falk Harrison and I made this video that discusses the challenges companies face in transitioning time and effort to social media. Matt Bell did a very nice job with the cinematography. It’s amazing what a video starts to look like when you put the Flip Cam down.

Interviews, Videos, And Appearances

Here’s a compendium of recent interviews, videos, and appearances I’ve done. Thanks to everyone that requested these interviews. I greatly enjoyed speaking with each of you.

1. Torrey McGraw interviewed me for his new entrepreneur website Grind and Thrive. As he readily admitted to me, yes his head was a bit off-center in the video. It doesn’t matter! We still had a great conversation, and we’ll probably have to do a part two.

2. Owen McGab Enaohwo of Hire Your Virtual Assistant interviewed me a few months ago. He asked some very specific questions about how I was able to build a personal brand and a t-shirt business while working a full-time job. And I reveal something in this interview that I’ve never publicly revealed before. (The audio on this one sounds like I’m in a cave (or in a Peter Frampton song), and the sound track doesn’t match the movement of my mouth. Nevertheless, it’s still a good interview!)

3. Russ Henneberry of Tiny Business Mighty Profits did a podcast interview with me. We discussed business use of social media, and why the numbers sometimes don’t matter.

4. As part of our #SavePratzels campaign, I appeared on the Mason and Remy show on 93.7 The Bull. As I’ve been saying, all we need now is a buyer!

5. Jon Falk and I discuss me joining Falk Harrison. We talk about how it happened, what each of us were thinking in the year leading up to my hiring, and what we plan on doing for our clients.

6. This is from a few months back, but I had a blast being on David Siteman Garland’s show The Rise To The Top.

7. Back in December, I did a tiny little podcast about how my body is changing (hint: it’s my iPhone’s fault)

8. As part of Webster University’s Walker Speaker Series, I participated in a social media panel discussion. Thanks to Patrick Powers for inviting me to speak, Charla Lord for facilitating my appearance, and to Dean Akande for deftly handling the emcee duties.

Please contact me at rizzotees [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com if you’d like to interview me, too.

Looking For A New Owner For Pratzel’s Bakery – On The Falk Harrison Blog

Pratzel's Bakery

Head over to the Falk Harrison blog to read about our efforts to find a new owner for 98-year-old Pratzel’s Bakery.

Falk Harrison is offering one year of free social media services to anyone that buys the operations of Pratzel’s, and many other St. Louis businesses are stepping up to help, as well. Our goal here is to give Pratzel’s Bakery and its closure enough exposure that a new owner will step forward. If a new owner cannot be found, this St. Louis institution will likely remain closed forever.

And if any other St. Louisans have goods & services they think might help, drop me a line at creimer [ at ] falkharrison [ dot ] com and let me know! Thanks to everyone for your interest and generosity.

RFT Announces Its 2011 Web Awards, And I’m Freaking Out Just A Little Bit

Rizzo Tees Wins Best Twitterer Award

The Riverfront Times announced its 2011 St. Louis Web Awards this evening, and I was a bit freaked to find that I won in the category of Best Twitterer in St. Louis. A link to the page where I’m mentioned is here. I saw a tweet from @IShotGuyDebord congratulating me, and I wasn’t sure what it meant. Then I remembered the RFT awards, and I booted up RiverfrontTimes.com. I was honestly really nervous as I pulled up the story and scanned through the results!

Thank you to the Riverfront Times, the judges that votes for me, my friends at Scorch, and big big thanks to Falk Harrison for recently bringing me on staff. And shoutouts to fellow nominees @CosmosGirl, @Tojosan, @MayorSlay, and @Nelly_MO. All are deserving of this for sure. Nelly, I’ll see you at the awards ceremony at The Firebird.

What does this all mean?

I’m thrilled to no longer be working in accounting, and I’m finally happy with what I’m doing with my work life. When it comes to winning awards like this, the fact that I enjoy what I do can’t hurt. Are buzz words like transparency and passion getting tired? If they are for you, that’s OK. They remain important in social media, and really really important in my life, so I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and let the chips fall where they may. I am enjoying the hell out of myself.

Time for celebratory wine!

Congrats to @RizzoTees for RFT Best Twitterer award. Chris already has an E-key to the city. #fgs

p.s. In reference to the RFT story, yes, I DO work, but I take Twitter breaks instead of smoke breaks. :-)
